How to Propagate Swedish Ivy

Plectranthus verticillatus

Swedish ivy roots as quickly and easily as coleus, a close relative. Cut below a node and expect roots within two weeks in water.

Water propagation

Cut 4-inch stems below a node, strip lower leaves, place in water.

Spring through summer, or year-round indoors.

Cutting rotted. Leaves submerged — strip and change water regularly.

Does it really smell like mint? Yes, the crushed foliage has a minty scent, though it’s not related to true mint.
