Like its relative Crown of Thorns, this plant bleeds irritating milky sap that needs to fully stop before planting. Wear gloves and safety glasses — the sap can cause serious eye irritation if it splashes, more so than most plants on this site.
Stem cutting
- Wearing gloves, cut a 4–5 inch section.
- Blot the sap until it stops bleeding.
- Let it dry and callus about a week.
- Insert into dry, well-draining succulent mix.
- Water sparingly.
