How to Propagate Kalanchoe

Kalanchoe roots easily from leaves or stem sections using the standard succulent rule: let cuttings dry and callus before they touch soil. Flowering kalanchoe (the type sold in grocery stores) also produces offsets around the base as it matures.
Leaf and stem cutting
Let leaves or 2–3 inch stem sections dry 1–2 days, then set on or in dry succulent mix. Mist lightly rather than watering heavily until roots form.
Offsets
Separate rooted offsets from the base, let cut ends dry a day, and pot in dry mix.
When to propagate
Spring through summer.

Cutting rotted. Not enough drying time before planting.
