Like Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium sometimes produces keiki along mature canes. Wait until a keiki has its own roots before separating it, and note that older, leafless canes on this genus can also be encouraged to sprout keiki deliberately.

Once a keiki has roots 1–2 inches long, cut it free below its base and pot in orchid bark mix.
